CoreGo’s smart wristbands will be used as a payment method during Equmenia’s national scout camp Större this summer. The technology has been utilized at several different events, but Equmenia’s Scout Camp Större will be one of the first scoutcamps in Sweden to adopt it.
Prepaid smart wristbands will not only be used as participant badges but will also allow scouts to easily pay for goods and services during the camp. In addition to the wristbands, CoreGo’s payment terminals will also be available on-site.
“We want to be a camp that thinks larger and dares to be at the forefront. While the technology has been used at various events before, we are among the first scoutcamps in Sweden to implement it,” says Linnea Hjelm, the communications manager at Större.
Two Reasons Why Equmenia’s Scout Camp, Större Chose CoreGo‘s Smart Wristbands
Easy Payments
With the prepaid smart wristbands, neither cash nor cards are needed. Instead, participants can load money onto their wristbands before the camp begins, which can then be used to pay at stores, cafes, and for donations. This streamlines the payment process and reduces the risk of lost or stolen cards and cash.
“An important reason is that we wanted a payment method that suits our youngest participants at the camp. We want to avoid cash handling, and not all scouts have Swish or debit cards,” explains Hjelm.
Two-in-one Solution
In addition to functioning as a payment method, the wristbands will also serve as identification for the participants at the camp.
“Everyone at the camp would still receive a wristband indicating that they are participants, and with this particular wristband, it gains an additional function as a payment method,” explains Hjelm
How it Works
Before the camp begins, each participant will be assigned a smart wristband linked to their personal account. Parents or participants themselves will be able to load money onto the wristband before the camp starts.
This can be done either with a bank card or through other payment methods such as Swish or bank transfers. Once the money is loaded onto the wristband, it is ready to be used for purchases at the camp.
Multiple Payment Options
In addition to the smart wristbands, CoreGo’s payment terminals will also be available, enabling several different payment methods.
Hjelm is looking forward to the upcoming camp: “With these various methods, we believe that everyone will be able to choose a payment solution that suits them.”
By introducing prepaid smart wristbands, Equmenia takes a significant step towards modernizing and enhancing the camp experience for its participants. By offering a secure, convenient, and sustainable payment solution, they promote a culture of financial responsibility while creating a smoother and more efficient camp environment.
