For the 30th time, Rauman Lukko’s traditional tournament ”Pitsiturnaus” attracted spectators to the Kivikylä Arena on the first Friday in August. The event was sold-out, with live music and a wide choice of restaurant services complementing the ice-hockey program.

CoreGo’s payment solutions have been used at the Kivikylä Arena since 2021, where our portable POS terminals are used at the food, beverage and merchandise sales points. CoreGo also supplied extra terminals for the tournament, which were used at the additional sales points needed for the sold-out event.

Portability of POS Terminals Reduces Queuing

The challenge for in-game sales is that they are often concentrated during breaks in the game, which can lead to long queues. According to Sanna Varho, Restaurant Director at Rauma Lukko, CoreGo’s POS terminals helps to ease these spikes in sales:

– The combination of cash register and payment terminal works. If necessary, the terminals can be moved from one point of sale to another depending on where the traffic is at any given moment.

“The combination of cash register and payment terminal works. If necessary, the terminals can be moved from one point of sale to another depending on where the traffic is at any given moment.”

Connecting the terminal to a new point of sale and changing its products can be done quickly in our backend system CoreGo Cloud.

– CoreGo Cloud is particularly well suited and flexible for the use of CoreGo solutions in the Kivikylä Arena. Adding products and connecting terminals on the fly to new sales points is very easy, says Varho.

Minimise Costs in the Off-Season

With the summer event season coming to an end, CoreGo’s cash desks are moving to ice hockey arenas and other event venues and restaurants that are active during the winter. Operators or venues that are closed or during the winter season can return equipment to CoreGo at the end of the season, which helps to keep costs under control.

The same applies to operators in the winter season: all or part of the equipment can be returned for the summer, thus saving on equipment rental costs.

– There is a significant financial saving for the club when some of the terminals can be returned for the summer. There are a few summer events at the Kivikylä Arena, so we keep a small number of terminals in the arena for these events as well, says Varho.

Smooth Cooperation Enables Optimisation and Development of Systems

Cooperation with Rauma Lukko has also been fruitful in developing new solutions suitable for sports clubs. Several accounting integrations have been added to the CoreGo backend system, which streamline data processing and provide better monitoring possibilities. Invoices from on-site sales can also be transferred directly to the accounting system and from there to the customers.

“Our aim is to be able to make better use of existing data, for example to support ticket sales.”

Sasu Eronen, Rauman Lukko’s Event and Development Director, has also been pleased with CoreGo’s solutions and is involved in planning even wider applications for the systems:

– We are currently discussing the development of Lukko’s customer relationship management system and its integration with CoreGo’s systems. Our aim is to be able to make better use of existing data, for example to support ticket sales.

During the summer, CoreGo has also signed new cooperation agreements with HPK at Pohjantähti Arena and JYP at LähiTapiola Arena. The ice hockey clubs will use CoreGo’s payment solutions, accounting integrations and inventory management tools from the start of this season.
