Germany’s most important tennis tournaments are gradually evolving into major digital events, with modern technology such as cashless payments and access control playing a central role. CoreGo’s solutions create measurable added value for organisers by making data actionable and streamlining processes, thereby improving the visitor experience in the long term.

Over the past week, CoreGo was in action at two of Germany’s largest tennis tournaments. At the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle, we provided our cashless payment solution for the third consecutive year, ensuring smooth transactions on the event grounds. Meanwhile, we made our debut at the VANDA Pharmaceuticals Berlin Tennis Open, providing the organiser with valuable insights into visitor traffic through our camera solution integrated into the Insight platform, which played a key role in the security plan.

These not only enabled cashless payments but also functioned as mobile registers. Each stand had a product range integrated into the system that was tailored to its specific offerings, ensuring that the checkout process was as fast and intuitive as possible. This allowed all purchases to be made easily by card, mobile phone, or NFC card, while simultaneously recording the exact sales figures for each stand in the system.

"CoreGo’s POS systems have supported us at the heristo-arena for three years now and were used once again at the Terra Wortmann Open this year.  In addition to a fast and straightforward payment process, the real-time data is of particular benefit, providing insights into sales figures and current trends at any time. This approach fosters transparency and enables us to make informed decisions directly during the event."

Thanks to their long battery life and reliable offline functionality, the CoreGo POS Terminals are ideally suited for event operations. This allowed us to even use the devices in the parking lots, ensuring a seamless payment process there regardless of available network coverage.

The first tournament weekend of the VANDA Pharmaceuticals Open in Berlin began with free admission for all visitors. To ensure compliance with safety protocols at all times, CoreGo cameras were installed at the entrances and exits.

These cameras are designed to count the number of people entering or leaving the premises without storing or processing any personal data. This enabled the organiser to monitor visitor numbers and the venue’s capacity in real time. These insights significantly contributed to visitor management and the implementation of the security plan throughout the entire tournament.

"The combination of real-time data and data protection-compliant tracking convinced us. In a high-visitors-flow environment such as a tournament, it is crucial to have a system that allows for the accurate and immediate monitoring of the venue's capacity. This enabled us to provide targeted support for our security plan while demonstrating agility in responding to changes."

The deployments at the Terra Wortmann Open and the VANDA Pharmaceuticals Berlin Tennis Open demonstrate the versatility of modern event technology. While the focus in Halle was on seamless payment processing and detailed sales data, the emphasis in Berlin was on tracking and analysing visitor flows in a way that complies with data protection regulations. Both projects illustrate how digital solutions can assist event organisers in optimising processes, enabling informed decision-making based on real-time data, and concurrently further enhancing the visitor experience. We’re proud to support them in this way with our solutions.
